Featured New Products from 2019

Posted on January 3, 2020July 26, 2022 By osborneoffice No Comments on Featured New Products from 2019

Happy new year! We’re excited to start off 2020 with a recap of some of our most exciting new products from 2019: metal table legs, metal table slides, the Slagle leg, floating shelves, and our brand new V bar stabilizer.

Metal Table Legs

Near the end of last year, we began introducing metal table legs to our collection. These legs are ideal for industrial-style furniture, adding a sleek and modern look to any furniture. The hairpin legs and feet are excellent for blending into the background and allowing something like a live edge table top to take center stage. Then there are our pedestal bases, which are currently available in three styles, each with their own unique design.

Additionally, we are working on making new additions, such as ram’s horn sets of furniture feet, to our line this year.

Floating Shelves

Another of our favorite additions this year is our brand new (we’re talking last month brand new!) selection of floating shelf hardware. There are two hardware options currently available: the dowel system and the bracket system. The Slotted Insert Shelf (Part #8917) comes with the full shelf, which measures 24″ long and 8″ wide. As for the bracket system, this one is offered either as just the hardware or the hardware plus the shelf. Floating Shelf Hardware Kits (Parts #933 & #934) are offered in 18″, 30″, and 42″ lengths and either 1″ or 1 1/2″ widths.

Check out our full shelving selection today!

The Slagle Leg

Introducing the Slagle Leg - designed by Slagle Wood Designs

One of our most popular products isn’t really a product, it’s a service: we’re able to offer custom products to match any customer’s design. This is especially exciting when we’re able to partner with a designer (or two!) to create a new leg for their customers. The Slagle Wood Designs Table Leg (Part #342296) was designed by Kalyn and Brian Slagle of Slagle Wood Designs, and they have been long-time customers of ours. Until recently, this design was one we made custom for them from time to time for their custom design business. Then, they were gracious enough to choose to share the design with all of our customers! The Slagle Leg was released back in November, and we’re in love with the unique combination of turnings this leg features.

Acrylic Table Legs & Feet

Ebonized walnut coffee table with acrylic legs by DIB Woodworking. Legs provided by Osborne Wood Products.

During the year, we introduced a small yet exciting collection of acrylic table legs to our already impressive lineup of table legs. (Read more about the release here.) This collection ranges in height from 3″ square and round feet up to 35 1/2″ island legs. There’s also a range of styles to choose from, from ones that imitate the classic turnings our wooden legs are famous for, to sleek tapered legs with modern, metal bands, and even a funky, modern leg with graduated circular turnings and a clear foot. Our friend John from DIB Woodworking has used the Amicalola Acrylic Coffee Table Leg (Part #342501) to create a stunning ebonized coffee table, and the Caledonia Acrylic End Table Leg (Part #342754) to create a beautiful end table with an opening top.

You can view the whole collection of acrylic components, and be sure to come back next week to read our first-ever interview with none other than our good friend John from DIB Woodworking.

V Bar Stabilizer

Last but certainly not least, both on this list and as an addition for the year, is the Steel V Bar Stabilizer (Part #987). This stabilizer is used in place of a skirt kit (for example, on a trestle table) on the underside of a table top, counter to the direction of the wood, to help prevent warping, washboarding, cupping, and gapping over time as the moisture content changes. The way it works is that it fits into a groove created by a custom router bit (which we also sell), then screws into the table top. It has elongated screw hole grooves to allow the table top to “swim” the length of the opening.

The stabilizer is offered in twelve different lengths ranging from 15.5″ up to 72″ long. We also offer two different drill bits and replacement blades for use with the V bar, as well. View the full assortment here.
