How to Assemble Osborne’s Journeyman Pedestal Kits

Posted on May 5, 2020July 27, 2022 By Helen Walters No Comments on How to Assemble Osborne’s Journeyman Pedestal Kits

Osborne Wood Products offers two sizes of this sturdy pedestal kit: the standard Journeyman Pedestal Base (Part #1186) with a 6″ wide center column, and the Massive Journeyman Pedestal Base (Part #1185) with a 8″ wide center column.

Assembling either of these two pedestal kits is easy, and the individual parts you receive are shown below:

The best way to begin is to fit everything together to make sure that you have all the parts and understand which parts go with which pieces. Begin by attaching the cross-brace pieces to the pedestal feet. Repeat this step by attaching the cross-brace pieces to the pedestal arms.

Insert the hanger bolts of the pedestal feet sections into the matching holes on all four sides of the center pedestal, and tighten the bolts with the nuts and washers on the inside of the pedestal center, finger-tight only. Turn pedestal over.

Repeat the previous step by inserting the hanger bolts of the four pedestal arm sections into the matching holes on all four sides of the center pedestal, and tighten the bolts with the nuts and washers on the inside of the pedestal center, finger-tight only.

Once the feet and arms are all attached, tighten all of the nuts on the pedestal and adjust the levelers to achieve a flat surface.
