If you have been looking for a great trestle table design, check out this gorgeous table that was created by our friend Peter from Clark, NJ. Peter used four of Osborne’s Islander Dining Table Legs (Part #1150) in hard maple. The legs were shortened to allow for the extra height of the slim trestle base, which supports with a graceful, curvy profile. The dining legs are mounted bottom-side up for a creative twist. A stabilizing stretcher between the two bases finishes off this lovely design. This is a great example of master-carpentry–well done, Peter!
When you need to extend the table a few times a year to allow extra room for guests, it’s so nice to have convenient storage of the table leaves right there inside the table. No more hauling around heavy and awkward table leaves, forgetting where you put them last, or damaging them with your storage solution. Check out the nifty little compartment Peter created just below the table top to quickly set up and put away each big dinner table. He used Osborne’s 50″ Equalizer Table Slide (Part #9052) which has a 49″ opening and opens effortlessly with just one hand. The gears on the slide ensure that the table opens equally from the center opening. All of Osborne’s table slides are constructed from maple, and will provide many years of use for your dining table.
